Have you heard of Three Custom Color Specialists? If you haven’t, you should! This beauty brand is a favorite among makeup artists, celebrities and beauty editors everywhere. This is due in part by 3  C’s ability to re-create discontinued lipstick, eyeshadows and other makeup staple’s colors spot on, as well as their unique cosmetics collections . I was lucky enough to be able to meet two of the owners of 3 C, Chad Hayduk and Trae Bodge, during Fall Fashion Week 2007 and haven’t been able to get enough of their products ever since!

Shannon: I consider Three Custom one of the gems of the cosmetics industry. When first deciding upon the concept for your company, what were some of the things you set out to do to position yourself uniquely in the industry?

Chad Hayduk: First and foremost, our Custom Blending Services. We wanted to not only create the perfect shades for our clients but be able to recreate their long-lost favorite discontinued shades. We also wanted to create a Ready to Wear Line of product that could embrace all skin tones, skin types and age groups, be multi-functional and use only tried-and-true ingredients so that even the most sensitive skins can use our products. Its all based on the concept of the color wheel! Our Ready to Wear Collection is based on the concept of the color wheel using color science much like a painter creates paints for their palette. By using all colors on the color wheel, we created a warm and cool version of each, thus, making a range of color suitable for all skin tones.

Shannon: You have a section of your website where someone can determine if their skin type is cool or warm. Are there a specific colors in your palette that complement both skin types?

Chad Hayduk: Yes, we also offer a neutral category in our range of lip colors. These are the perfect universal shades that can look great on anyone!

Shannon: If you could pick any celebrity to wear Three Custom Cosmetics, who would it be, why and what colors/products would you pick for her?

Chad Hayduk: Angelina Jolie and yes, she does wear our products! Through her makeup artist, Matin, we created several custom lip colors and eye shadow for her and matched a few favorite discontinued shades. The two that we can discuss are a custom eye shadow that I created, which is now available in our Ready to Wear line called, “Snow,” as well as re-creation of her favorite lipstick: Guerlain Divinora 480. This lipstick is, of course, available to order through our online archive.

Shannon: What is your best makeup tip?

Chad Hayduk: I would have to say that everyone should try our Light Clarifier. It is an eyeliner that is used on the inner rim of the eye to whiten and brighten and make the eyes look bigger, brighter and clearer. It can also be used as a spot concealer and lip color corrector.

Shannon: Any collections or products in the works that you can dish on?

Chad Hayduk: Look out for our new Opaline Crème Eye definers this month! There are two shades in black and brown with a subtle opalescence to make the eyes appear brighter.
