Lancome L'Absolu Rouge lipstick in Chris & Tell

Take a look at this picture from backstage at the Chris Benz Spring 2010 fashion show.  How gorgeous is that makeup?

I recently spent several days in New York at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where I must normally fight to unearth tiny shreds of relevance for real women amid all the bizarre, conceptual “beauty.” 

Seriously, how does “street urchin” or “teenage runaway” (or black lipstick…or painfully severe bouffants…or pink eyeshadow that mimics illness…) relate to my life or yours?  We want to look pretty, not like angry supermodel hobos!

But this fresh-faced, sun-kissed look by Lancôme makeup artist Daniel Martin–defined lashes, softly shimmering, glowy complexion, and those oh-so-lush coral lips!–bowled me over.  Finally: a beauty look I actually want to replicate!

Prodigious amounts of mascara (Daniel used Lancôme Hypnose, one of my all-time favorites for mega-drama), coral blush, and shimmering face powder complete the look!
