The Fairest Sale: Pop Beauty

When makeup is in your blood, you have no choice but to start your own line. That’s exactly what Sara Strand did. With big sister Petra Strand in the business as a makeup artist and creator of the Pixi line (more on that later), Sara Strand went out and created Pop Beauty. It’s clear that the line is all about having fun with makeup but at the same time delivering results. From the packaging down to the products themselves, Pop will put the fun back into your makeup bag.

Here are a few of my personal picks from Pop:

Fall is all about the defined eye and their Cat Eye eyeliner is a great way to get that well defined, come hither cat eye look. The eyeliner is shaped so that application is as easy as pie. The square tip helps you draw a line with just the right amount of thickness so you won’t have a line that is too thick and creeping into your crease. The square tip is also helpful because all you need to do is gently flick your wrist to get the wing done right. Plus the formula just glides on the eye… it does not get much easier than this.

I love the Cat Eye shades as well, they are gorgeous. I picked up Black Dahlia first, it’s a rich plum-brown shade, and loved it so much I went back for Black Olive as well, a brown with a hint of green to it. Of course it also comes in a standard black named Black Onyx.

Who doesn’t love highlighters? I absolutely adore them and I like them even more if I’m given options instead of just being stuck with one shade. Instead of 1, 2 or even 3 shades, the Glow Belle highlighting palette gives you a total of 8 shades to choose from and most of them double as blushes. The powder is triple milled so it blends well and you’re not left with chunky particles of shimmer decorating your face. If you love that idea, Pop also makes Rose Belle, a palette with 8 different blushes, and Bronze Belle, a palette with 8 different bronzers.

Last but certainly not least are Pop’s Eye Class palettes. I love it when all the work is done for me and I have shades that work for my eye color already chosen for me. That’s exactly what the Eye Class palettes are all about. You can pick up a palette suited for Brown, Blue or Green eyes and have almost everything you need to do your eyes… all you need is the mascara! Each palette has neutral shades, more daring shades to play up your look and 2 eyeliners. Pop has gone even further with this idea and have create a few more palettes including a “Day to Play” palette and a “Smokey Eyes” palette.
