Scientists discover a ‘curly hair gene’

December 7, 2009

So, looks like we’re one step closer to designer babies.  According to the Telegraph, Australian scientists have identified a gene called trichohyalin, which causes curly hair.  Depending on variations in the gene, you’ll either have curly locks or straight, and the chances of inheriting curls are 90%.  What’s especially interesting is that the scientists are already partnering with a French beauty company to develop a straightening product.  Heh.  Doesn’t that sound kind of…freaky

Until we learn more, we say rock the Living Proof for gorgeous, frizz-free curls, embrace what God gave you, and call it a day!
