Let me tell you about a few of my favorite Pixi products.

When it comes to lip products, I have very specific beauty obsession: I am addicted to lip stains. Ask me about a lip stain and I most likely have it along with every shade that the lip stain comes in, whether it’s my shade or not… that’s just how I roll; I like to have my bases covered! But seriously, I am absolutely addicted to lip stains because they give my lips color that lasts practically all day. Pixi’s lip stains are a particular favorite of mine because of the delivery method. I love the magic marker-like packaging to this lip stain, you can use it like a lip liner and fill in your lips with it. That’s not such an easy feat with other lip stains. Right now the best thing about Pixi’s Lip Blush is that all shades are 60% off during The Fairest‘s sale.

This little gem is Pixi’s Smokey Eye Wand. The wand has a sponge tip applicator at the top and when you twist the cap back on, the sponge tip is loaded with eyeshadow in Black Silver. This color is gorgeous! When you pack the color on your lids, you have this metallic smokey eye that is so smoldering. The sponge tip is sized so it can lay down color on the lid and still fit into the contour of the crease. Sometimes I have a little trouble creating the smokey eye look, it takes a little more effort than just applying a dark color to your lids. Pixi’s Smokey Eye Wand has definitely made the process a little easier for me though. My only wish here was that Pixi would release more colors. I dream of Smokey Eye Wands with black eyeshadows with brown and blue undertones… who could resist that?

When makeup is in your blood, you have no choice but to start your own line. That’s exactly what Sara Strand did. With big sister Petra Strand in the business as a makeup artist and creator of the Pixi line (more on that later), Sara Strand went out and created Pop Beauty. It’s clear that the line is all about having fun with makeup but at the same time delivering results. From the packaging down to the products themselves, Pop will put the fun back into your makeup bag.

Here are a few of my personal picks from Pop:

Fall is all about the defined eye and their Cat Eye eyeliner is a great way to get that well defined, come hither cat eye look. The eyeliner is shaped so that application is as easy as pie. The square tip helps you draw a line with just the right amount of thickness so you won’t have a line that is too thick and creeping into your crease. The square tip is also helpful because all you need to do is gently flick your wrist to get the wing done right. Plus the formula just glides on the eye… it does not get much easier than this.

I love the Cat Eye shades as well, they are gorgeous. I picked up Black Dahlia first, it’s a rich plum-brown shade, and loved it so much I went back for Black Olive as well, a brown with a hint of green to it. Of course it also comes in a standard black named Black Onyx.

Who doesn’t love highlighters? I absolutely adore them and I like them even more if I’m given options instead of just being stuck with one shade. Instead of 1, 2 or even 3 shades, the Glow Belle highlighting palette gives you a total of 8 shades to choose from and most of them double as blushes. The powder is triple milled so it blends well and you’re not left with chunky particles of shimmer decorating your face. If you love that idea, Pop also makes Rose Belle, a palette with 8 different blushes, and Bronze Belle, a palette with 8 different bronzers.

Last but certainly not least are Pop’s Eye Class palettes. I love it when all the work is done for me and I have shades that work for my eye color already chosen for me. That’s exactly what the Eye Class palettes are all about. You can pick up a palette suited for Brown, Blue or Green eyes and have almost everything you need to do your eyes… all you need is the mascara! Each palette has neutral shades, more daring shades to play up your look and 2 eyeliners. Pop has gone even further with this idea and have create a few more palettes including a “Day to Play” palette and a “Smokey Eyes” palette.

It has a thin texture so it seems like it may not hydrate skin as much as you would like it to but then it sneaks up on you and leaves your skin moist… and soft. Interesting note about this moisturizer, the sweet black tea in it is actually fermented and that is also known as Kombucha. I may not like the idea of drinking it but I have no problems whatsoever when it’s going on my skin.

It’s better than misting your face with plain old water any day of the week.
