3 Classic Nail Polishes

When it comes to nail polish, it’s nice to have all the colors of the rainbow on hand, so your manicure can fit your mood and the occasion.  Sometimes you might want to mix it up with trendy green, navy or yellow…but othertimes,  nothing but the classics will do!  Here are Marta’s picks for 3 classic nail polish shades.

Essie Mademoiselle: An every day soft pink, great for making nails appear polished and demure.  It’s just a bit more exaggerated than your natural color, and oh-so-pretty.  Mademoiselle is the polish to reach for when you want only a hint of color on nails. (more…)

3 Classic Concealers

Marta here! Not sure if you know this…but I’m all about the concealer and flawless skin. Covering undereye dark circles and skin imperfections makes a huge transformational effect. It is the basic thing you need for your makeup routine.

Below is a list of 3 classic concealers adored by the beauty world. These will get you closer to the perfectly concealed, flawless skin of your dreams!

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, $28.00: A must-have that completely camouflages dark circles, minor imperfections & discolorations. How does it work? A unique two-shade system, one to match the skin’s depth of color & one to match the skin’s undertone. And remember, apply after foundation!

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, $22: A yellow-based concealer beloved by beauty insiders everywhere that instantly hides dark circles. What else?  The creamy consistency ensures that it goes on smoothly, providing full, but natural looking coverage.  Nobody will be able to tell that your skin is anything less than perfect.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, $40: I love to carry Touche Eclat in my bag because the built-in brush makes it so easy to apply on the go. It features light-diffusers that add radiance, immediately brightening undereye dark circles and hiding any redness around the nose. (Just make sure to get the right shade!)  This one is my own personal gold standard classic.

3 Classic Lipglosses

The following 3 Classic Lipglosses are everything a girl needs for gorgeous, look-at-me lips!

MAC Lipglass took the lip gloss into a whole new level and will forever remain my favorite–it has a punch of bright color and is super long lasting.  Sure, it can be a bit sticky, but I can handle the trade off: perfectly glossy!

My first introduction to MAC Lipglass was at a Sex And The City party in New York City. I met this fabulous drag queen dressed like Samantha with the most glossy lips I’d ever seen! I asked him/her: “What lip gloss are you wearing? I have to have it!”  He replied: “It’s MAC Lipglass, honey!” And my obsession was born.

3 Classic…Bronzers

Bronzers present quite the challenge: capture a sun-kissed, healthy glow…without looking fake or orange!   The following 3 classic bronzers will give you a sought-after glow that appears natural year-round.

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder: Terracotta has been setting the benchmark for natural-looking, long-wearing faux glows since 1984. Now that’s a classic!  It’s moisturizing and oil-absorbing powder gives you a natural looking tan.

3 Classic…Red Lipsticks

Red lipstick is one of the most classic beauty looks, accentuating your lips to make them super sexy and glamorous in an instant!  These classic reds will help you achieve the best looking lips anywhere – I call them “the keepers.”

MAC Russian Red: Rumor is that this red lipstick was specially designed for non other than Madonna during her late 80’s Blonde Ambition era. (Think: “Express yourself” and “Vogue” videos.)  MAC Red Russian was my first love. I remember getting tons of looks from both men and women admiring my very glamorous “Russian Red” lips (I was born in Russia, so pun intended!)  It’s a bluish red and smooth in texture. (PS – I tend to skip a lip liner when I wear a red lipstick. Red lipstick can stand on its own.)
